With the launch of AMD Ryzen mainstream offerings, the company can now finally focus on moving towards mobile variants. As the chief commander of AMD named DR. Lisa Su, just announced the launch dates for the mobile Ryzen based notebooks. Which will see the light of day somewhere in the Q1 2018.
Ryzen mobile platform from AMD will be powering powerful, light and thin laptops. That will also include two in one notebooks from a bunch of companies including HP, Acer and Lenovo. Which are expected to get announced in the coming weeks. While the portfolio will get better in the coming months as well. That will include a lot more companies offering Ryzen mobile chips on their notebooks.
Aside from that Lisa is also expecting premium Ryzen mobile notebooks as well. That are expected to get announced in the Q1 of next year. While the Ryzen mobile based notebooks that we are expecting in the Q4 2017 would be mainstream offerings.
The upcoming AMD Ryzen mobile varaints would sure be an interesting offering compared to Intel. But in 2018 capturing the market won’t be an easy task for AMD. Because not a lot of users are fond of using an AMD based notebook. While the recently launched Intel 8th generation family launch might also affect the sales of Ryzen mobile based notebooks as well. Which includes lower prices and more cores just like AMD Ryzen. Making every Intel based laptop to ship with fours cores now instead of two.
Whatever the case maybe, AMD Ryzen mobile based notebooks would still be a better price to performance offering compared to Intel. Yes, Intel chips performance slightly better but that comes with a premium as well. While for those who are looking to invest into something convenient. A Ryzen mobile based offering would be a better option.
