Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus recently got cracked on PC. Though the crack for the game came before even the game was released. Which was available among various websites and forums. While something like this isn’t seen every day, it still won’t be possible without any inside help. Meaning the development team of the game might have some hand in all of this. By helping hackers get their hands on the game code before its release.
A game being cracked before its release might be a surprise for a lot of you. But it’s not the first time we have seen something like this. Where the same thing happened to two other UBISOFT titles as well. Including the Assassins Creed Syndicate and Watch Dogs 2. Both of which were also cracked before its release. Aside from that the recently launched Assassins Creed Origin is also said to be free of Denuvo. So do expect the game to also get cracked upon release.
Cracking recent games have also been made a little easier by removing Denuvo. As the recently launched titles like Evil Within 2 and Middle Earth: Shadow of War, didn’t come with Denuvo support upon launch. Same is the case with the Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus. Where developers decided to remove Denuvo from the game before its release. Aside from that Denuvo also wasn’t very helpful in keeping hacker away. Because it only aiding in prolonging the process.
If you don’t known Denuvo is an anti-tamper software designed for the protection of games. Though it also effects the performance of the game in return. Which have been noticed throughout the game titles that were launched with Denuvo support.
What do you think about the problems that gaming industries face nowadays. Will game developers ever be able to tackle the problems that piracy create?
